The Officer-In-Charge of the Financial Intelligence Agency of Liberia (FIA), Hon. Mohammed Ali Nasser has used his administrative skills by creating visibility and relevant for the Financial Intelligence Agency of Liberia (FIA) at an international gathering organized by the Forum of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) of the GIABA Member States (FFIU-GMS) also known as the West African Forum of FIUs (WAFFIU).
Speaking recently after his return to Monrovia, Liberia, OIC Nasser elaborated that this organization is dedicated to promoting the exchange of information and technical expertise among Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) in West Africa, with the key goal of combatting money laundering and terrorist financing.
According to FIA Officer-In-charge, by facilitating collaboration between FIUs and other stakeholders, we aim to enhance the regional effectiveness of anti-money laundering, counter-financing of terrorism and counter-proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) regime.
He stated that the Forum of FIUs, we strive to foster a culture of cooperation and trust among our members.
Nasser intoned that the organization is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. “We believe that by working together, we can achieve our shared objective of a safe and secure financial system in West Africa, he added.
Meanwhile, other heads of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) of the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) Member States attended the global gathering.
