CONFIDENTIALITY AND TIPPING OFF

All persons employed with or seconded to the FIA are required to keep confidential any information obtained within the scope of his/her duties and after the cessation of those duties, except as provided in the FIU Act.

No person, body corporate, or other legal entity who knows or suspects to know that law enforcement or customs officer is conducting or about to investigate ML or TF shall disclose to any other personal information or any other matter which is likely to prejudice the investigation or proposed investigation.

No financial institution designated non-financial business and professional, and other entities nor any director, partner, officer, principal or employee thereof shall disclose to their customer or a third party that a report or any other information concerning suspected ML or TF will be is being or has been submitted to the FIA or competent authority, or that an ML or TF investigation is being or has been carried out.
