Ahead of the official commencement of the second National Risk Assessment (NRA) data collection across the country, two senior managers of the Financial Intelligence Agency of Liberia (FIA) have underscored the importance of the nationwide data collection exercise to protecting Liberia’s financial system.
Cooper Leamah II, Manager for Domestic and International Relations, and Tanneh Sonpon, Manager for Risk, appeared on the state broadcaster, ELBC Radio 99.9, on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Appearing and giving separate narrations, the two managers provided detailed understanding of the various sectors the second NRA will cover.
According to them, the nationwide risk assessment is a collective exercise involving all competent authorities and other stakeholders who are expected to identify gaps in various sectors and help find mitigating measures to address them.
They called for cooperation from Liberians and other nationals during and after the assessment, noting that it will help protect Liberia’s financial system from waste and abuse.
